Syria’s healthcare system is in crisis. More than 15 million people need medical help — yet only 37% of health centres are still functioning. From chronic illness to injury and trauma, the needs are immense and growing.
Among the most urgent — and often overlooked — is prosthetics and rehabilitation. At least 86,000 Syrians have lost limbs, many of them children who outgrow their prosthetics within months. Without access, they lose not just mobility, but independence and opportunity.
At Action Syria, health has been at the core of our mission since the beginning — starting with prosthetics, and growing to include primary care, maternal health, and chronic disease support through trusted partners like PAC and SAMS.
Right now, we’re not funding any medical programmes. That’s not because the need isn’t there — it’s because the funds aren’t.
These projects don’t just need support — they need long-term commitment. Our healthcare partners are ready to deliver life-saving care, but without sustainable funding, we can’t plan or promise the continuity they deserve.
