In towns across Syria, families are returning home, schools are being rebuilt, and children are imagining brighter futures beyond conflict. One year on from the fall of the Assad regime, hope remains in Syria – but so do significant challenges. Â
Fourteen years of conflict has devastated Syrian communities. Millions remain displaced. Basic services are crumbling. Schools are under-resourced and healthcare is scarce. For many who have returned, efforts to rebuild and recover are slowed down by destroyed homes and infrastructure. Despite these immense needs, international aid is fading and just 24% of the humanitarian assistance needed is available. Â
But together, we can act. Together, we can take stronger action this winter, working with Syrian communities to make sure they have the medical care and education they need as they rebuild.Â
Join us in standing with Syrian communities this Christmas by supporting our match funding campaign – one gift, twice the impact. Between 1-8 December, all donations up to £25,000 will be matched pound for pound by our generous pledgers, making double the difference for Syrian communities.Â
