This week (1-8 Dec), your donation will make twice the difference to Syrian communities rebuilding after years of conflict and displacement.
One year on from the fall of the Assad regime, Syrians have entered a new chapter. Now, families are returning home, schools are being rebuilt, and children are imagining brighter futures beyond conflict. Hope remains in Syria – but so do significant challenges.
Although some sanctions have begun to lift and parts of the economy are showing early signs of life, daily realities remain extremely difficult. 90% of the population are living in poverty and over 7 million Syrians are still internally displaced. Infrastructure is fragile, there is limited access to basic services, and 16.7 million people are still in need of humanitarian assistance.
At this critical moment for Syria, your support matters more than ever. As Syrians experience all of hope, trepidation and concern in this complex situation, your support can help turn that hope into real, lasting change.
We know that your support is making a real difference for Syrian children like Khaled, Qamar and Mohammad.
12-year-old Khaled is back in school in rural Damascus after Action Syria helped restore the infrastructure of his school. Now, Khaled says: “I want to become an engineer so I can help rebuild my country, Syria.”
In north west Syria, Qamar is playing with her friends and walking with confidence – just like other children her age – after she was provided with two free prosthetic limbs.
In Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, Mohammad is able to attend school everyday because of the school bus provided by Action Syria and our partner, SAWA. Without the bus, Mohammad might have to drop out of school and work.
Khaled, Qamar and Mohammad’s stories remind us why supporting Syrian communities matters. Because behind every project, and every number, is a person whose life has changed because of your support.
Syrian communities deserve the chance to build their lives with health, opportunity and hope. And you can be part of creating that today.
Between 1-8 December, all donations up to £25,000 will be matched pound for pound by our generous pledgers, making twice the impact for Syrian communities.
At this critical moment for Syria, together, we can make a real difference. Give now to make sure Syrian communities have the medical care and education they need.
Match funding runs until 8 December 2025.
