For the last three years, Abel & Cole and Hands Up have been working together, and are excited to announce their partnership which gets into full swing this November.
The partnership sees the launch of a new organic Seville orange and cardamom MarmalAid available to buy on Abel & Cole’s website in early November. This tantalisingly tasty marmalade is inspired by Syria’s bitter oranges which grow in the Old City of Damascus. Every penny and every pound made on MarmalAid is donated to Hands Up to support aid projects in and around Syria.
November will also bring a month of Abel & Cole Syrian themed recipe boxes – think mouth-watering chicken in a rich tahini sauce, aubergine fetteh and a Levatine Fisherman’s catch – with £1 in each recipe box donated to Hands Up.
And last but not least, Abel & Cole customers and staff could be lucky enough to find themselves dining at the Syrian Supper Club, Hands Up’s monthly three-course Syrian feast in London Fields, with twenty tickets up for grabs in a prize drawer.
Abel & Cole and Hands Up hopes that through their partnership more people can come together to remember the wonderful things Syria has and knows. By celebrating its food and culture, we have the power to do something good, and remind our friends in Syria that they have not been forgotten. It is a simple but powerful idea; to know that just by buying a jar of MarmalAid, or a Syrian themed recipe box, someone’s life will be improved or perhaps even saved, is an extraordinary thing.
