But Syria’s education system is in crisis. More than 2 million children are still out of school, and over 7,000 schools have been damaged or destroyed by years of conflict. Many are unsafe, overcrowded, or missing basic facilities like toilets, electricity, or heating. For many Syrian refugees in Lebanon, access to learning still remains out of reach — with growing legal and economic barriers making it challenging for Syrian children to access the education they need.
