Syria’s healthcare system remains in crisis. Over 15 million people require urgent health assistance yet only 57% of hospitals and 37% of primary healthcare centres are fully functional. This year, severe drought conditions have also led to increased public health risks and respiratory illnesses, putting more pressure on a healthcare system already at its breaking point.
From our very beginnings, Action Syria has funded medical care for Syrian communities — starting with prosthetics and growing to support primary healthcare services, maternal health, and chronic disease support in some of Syria’s most underserved regions.
We recently began funding a project to provide vital medical equipment and training to the intensive care and neurological units at a hospital facing shortages in Aleppo.
There’s still much to do — and so many more communities we want to reach.
We’ve identified community priorities, such as mental health support for families and children, and we have local partners that are ready to deliver life-saving medical care. But without sustained support, we can’t provide the consistency they deserve.
The Health Pot exists to change that.
It funds vital, community-led programmes that offer free, quality healthcare to Syrian communities, so that they can rebuild with health, opportunity and hope. Your gift can help make that possible.
