We are delighted to have raised over £24,000 through our match funding appeal to support Syrian communities with the medical care and education they need. We know that this money will make a real difference for Syrian communities, families and children, who are rebuilding and imagining brighter futures beyond conflict and displacement. Â
Following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, Action Syria has begun piloting new projects inside Syria – marking an important shift in how we support Syrian communities during this fragile transition.
We’re now half-way through our Christmas match funding appeal and, together, we have already raised over £14,000 of our goal of £25,000 to support Syrian communities at this critical moment.
But, your support is still urgently needed to help us reach our target and bring essential medical care and education to Syrian families as they rebuild.Â
This week (1-8 Dec), your donation will make twice the difference to Syrian communities rebuilding after years of conflict and displacement. As Syrians experience all of hope, trepidation and concern in this complex situation, your support can help turn that hope into real, lasting change.
In Syria, over 2 million children are currently out of school. That’s why we have been working with our partner, Abjad Initiative, to restore the infrastructure of Zamalka Primary School in rural Damascus, and in turn restore learning opportunities for hundreds of children.Â
This Christmas, lift your voice for Syrians and join us on Monday 1 December for our spectacular annual candlelit carol service in the heart of London. We are delighted that this year’s candlelit service will feature celebrated UK and Syrian musicians – Poppy Ackroyd and Maya Youssef – as well as choirs from St Barts and a local school.
